CHRISTMAS SERMON : Sermon By Ps Siani Harpal
GOD DID NOT FORGET US – LOVE CAME DOWN
“She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
— Matthew 1:21
1. GOD DID NOT FORGET US – EVEN WHEN MAN FORGOT AND REJECTED GOD
From the beginning, man forgets God, but God never forgets man.
- Adam and Eve (Genesis 3)
Adam and Eve disobeyed God and hid themselves. But God came searching:
“Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9)
Man hid from God, but God came looking for man.
- Israel in Egypt (Exodus 2:23–25)
Israel cried under slavery. “God heard their groaning… and God remembered His covenant.”
They were forgotten by the world, but not forgotten by God.
- Hannah (1 Samuel 1)
Hannah was mocked, barren, and broken.
“And the Lord remembered her.” (1 Samuel 1:19)
- The Thief on the Cross (Luke 23:42–43)
A rejected criminal said, “Jesus, remember me…”
Jesus replied: “Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
Even at the last moment, God did not forget him.
“Can a mother forget her child? … I will not forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15)
“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.” (Psalm 103:8)
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Even when man rejects God, God still loves and comes after us.
2. JESUS IS HUMBLE – ANYONE CAN COME TO HIM AT ANY TIME
Jesus is not a proud King sitting far away. He is a humble Savior who invites everyone.
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart.”
— Matthew 11:29
Jesus’ Humility
- Born in a Manger (Luke 2:7)
The King of kings chose a manger, not a palace.
“Though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)
- Children Came Freely (Mark 10:13–16)
Disciples tried to stop them.
Jesus said: “Let the little children come to Me.”
- Woman Caught in Adultery (John 8:1–11)
People wanted to stone her.Jesus forgave her:
“Neither do I condemn you.”
iv. Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–10)
A hated tax collector. Jesus said:
“I must stay at your house today.”
- Feet Washing (John 13:3–5)
Jesus, the Master, washed the disciples’ feet.“I have set you an example.” (John 13:15)
Because Jesus is humble:
Poor can come
Rich can come
Sinners can come
Broken can come
Anyone can come anytime
3. JESUS BROUGHT PEACE – WHAT THE WORLD GIVES VS WHAT JESUS GIVES
What the World Gives
Temporary happiness
Money → but no peace
Pleasure → but emptiness
Position → but fear
Alcohol, drugs → but bondage
“The world gives as the world gives.” (John 14:27)
What Jesus Gives
“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you.” (John 14:27)
Jesus’ Peace
Storm Calmed (Mark 4:39)
Storm outside, peace inside.
“Peace, be still!”
Woman with Issue of Blood (Mark 5:34)“Go in peace and be freed.”
Post-Resurrection (John 20:19)
Disciples were afraid. Jesus came and said:
“Peace be with you.”
World gives excitement; Jesus gives rest.
World gives temporary joy; Jesus gives eternal peace.
4. SHARE THE HOPE – EVEN WHEN MAN REJECTS GOD, GOD STILL LOVES
Shepherds (Luke 2:17)“They spread the word.”
Samaritan Woman (John 4) Rejected woman became a witness:
“Come, see a Man…”
Mary Magdalene (John 20:18)First witness of resurrection.
Paul (Acts 9) Persecutor became preacher.
“How can they hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14)
Christmas is not to keep Jesus—Christmas is to share Jesus.
5. CHRISTMAS IS A TIME OF GIVING – WHAT SHOULD BELIEVERS GIVE?
God Gave First“For God so loved the world that He gave…” (John 3:16)
What Believers Should Give
Love – John 13:34
Forgiveness – Matthew 18:21–22
Time – Ephesians 5:16
Care for the poor – Proverbs 19:17
Encouragement – Hebrews 10:24–25
Resources – 2 Corinthians 9:7
The Gospel – Matthew 28:19
Wise Men gave gifts (Matthew 2:11)
Widow gave two mites (Mark 12:41–44)
Good Samaritan gave help (Luke 10:33–35)
Zacchaeus gave restitution (Luke 19:8)
Christmas giving is not about how much—
it is about the heart.
6. CHRISTMAS IS A TIME TO GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS – WALK IN NEWNESS
Many come to church only for Christmas and New Year.
After celebration, they disappear.
But Jesus did not come for a one-day relationship.
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Forgiveness & New Life
Prodigal Son (Luke 15)
He left, wasted life.Father waited, forgave, restored.
Peter (John 21)Denied Jesus.
Jesus restored him.“Follow Me.”
“Repent and turn to God.” (Acts 3:19)
“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” (Colossians 3:13)
“Today, if you hear His voice…” (Hebrews 3:15)
Christmas is a call to start again.
7. JESUS CAME FOR ALL – NO POOR, NO RICH, NO CASTE
“There is neither Jew nor Greek… for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
— Galatians 3:28
Shepherds (poor) came
Wise men (rich) came
Fishermen, tax collectors followed
Lepers were touched
Gentiles were accepted
“Whoever comes to Me I will never cast out.” (John 6:37)
At the manger, all stand equal.
At the cross, all receive grace.
FINAL CALL
Dear brothers and sisters,
Do not let Jesus remain in the manger.
Let Him reign in your heart.Do not celebrate Christmas only with songs and dance—
Celebrate by surrendering your life to Jesus.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock.” (Revelation 3:20)
